One Cocktail, Two Ways - Blackberry Limoncello Lemonade
We recently had friends over and as per our usual, we prepare a cocktail menu. May sound like a lot of work, but to us it is part of the fun! Who doesn’t like a menu of cocktails to choose from? Especially when they don’t have a price beside them!
Here was our most recent. Thank you Canva! We picked a couple of standards (mule and G&T), one uses the simple syrup I already had in the fridge, see Strawberry Simple Syrup recipe, and kept a theme of lemon or lime in all the cocktails except the espresso martini. If you notice, there are many overlapping ingredients. The espresso Martini will be an upcoming post, as it uses some yummy coffee liquor from Junction 56.
What really makes this cocktail easy is overlapping ingredients that essentially make one cocktail, two ways. I made the cocktail with inspiration from my sister-in-law Kris. Her suggestion used raspberries instead of blackberries. That was the plan, until I got to the grocery store and the blackberries looked much fresher and tastier than the raspberries.
One cocktail is a Blackberry Limoncello Martini and the other is this recipe for the Blackberry Limoncello Lemonade. The martini is mostly alcohol and great for the sippers (not me) and the other a refreshing lemonade (my favorite). Using fresh ingredients may seem like a lot of work, but the brightness and flavor of the fresh fruit is spectacular. I highly recommend.
Below is the Blackberry Limoncello Lemonade, here is the Blackberry Limoncello Martini.
Blackberry Limoncello Lemonade Ingredients
Blackberries: Sweet and fruity, blackberries pair perfectly with vodka and lemon to create this refreshing lemonade.
Limoncello: Limoncello is a lemon flavoured liqueur from Italy that Italians drink chilled, after dinner, as a digestif, but we are using it here as an ingredient in this bright refreshing cocktail.
Vodka: Use your favourite vodka, or any vodka really. You don't need to break that bank.
Cointreau: This recipe uses Cointreau, but any Triple Sec will do. You can substitute Grand Marnier if that's what you have available.
Lemonade: Here is where you can adjust the strength of this cocktail to whatever you like by adjusting the amount of lemonade.
Lemon: A slice of lemon on the rim of the glass is the perfect garnish for this lemoande cocktail.
