Strawberry Simple Syrup Ingredients
Simple syrup is one of the easiest ways to elevate a cocktail (or mocktail). It is much easier to incorporate into the cocktail than sugar. All you need to do is boil equal parts sugar and water until sugar is dissolved. You can add fresh or frozen fruit or even spices.
How to Make Strawberry Simple Syrup

Directions
Combine all ingredients and boil in a pot on the stove for 10-12 minutes until berries are soft and pale in color. Stir occasionally.
Strain. Do not mash pulp through strainer or it will leave bits of berry in the syrup which could ferment.
Add a splash of lemon juice (optional)
Cool and then refrigerate in glass jar or sealed plastic container.
Pro Tips
- Add a splash of lemon juice for added brightness and zip
- Keep the left-over mashed berries to add to plain yogurt
Notes
Most recipes suggest the syrup will last about 2 weeks, but I have found it lasts much longer. It can be frozen.
