Pantalones Tequila is joining Princess Cruises’ “Love Line Premium Liquors” Collection, a collaboration with premium wine and spirit makers, and celebrity brand spirits, available to Princess Premier package guests onboard Princess Cruise ships.

A Little About Pantalones Tequila

Everyone knows Matthew McConaughey, the A-list movie star, but not everyone knows that he and his wife Camila launched their own tequila brand in the fall of 2023. They certainly didn’t think the world needed another celebrity spirit, but they though that the tequila industry could use a bit of a shake-up, and a “shot of fun.” From that came Pantalones Tequila.

Pantalones Tequila is a 100% Blue Weber Agave organic tequila that strives to not be taken too seriously. Their pants-free marketing campaign is proof of that, where they sip tequila without the restrictions of too much clothing.

Their playful attitude can be seen in some of the cocktails on the Pantalones site with names like "Super Pants," "Dirty Jeans," "Bare Bottom Batanga," and "Dance Your Pants Off." It's clear they are branding themselves differently from other premium tequilas on the market.

Pantalones comes in three expressions, blanco, reposado, and añejo, priced at $44.99 USD, $49.99 USD, and $54.99 USD respectively on the Pantalones website – very reasonable prices for a super-premium tequila. They are positioning Pantalones as a premium tequila without the premium price.

All 3 expressions are certified gluten-free and organic.

Pantalones Tequila Blanco is a silver tequila with a slight sweetness, and notes of agave, honey, and citrus.

Pantalones Tequila Reposado is “relaxed” for 9 months in American Oak whiskey barrels to bring out flavours of cooked agave, vanilla, and oak.

Pantalones Tequila Añejo is aged for 15 months in American Oak Whiskey barrels to mellow out the flavour further and introduce notes of vanilla, butterscotch, and brown sugar.

Pantalones Expansion

Pantalones Tequila has been very well received. In their first year, all three expressions took home medals from the San Francisco World Spirits Competition! The Reposado won bronze, the Blanco won gold, and the Añejo won double gold. That's some high praise for a brand-new spirit and speaks to its quality.

In September 2024, they announced an aggressive growth strategy with a national expansion through distributor Southern Glazer’s Wine and Spirits.

The Princess Cruise Partnership

Today, Princess Cruises Cruises announced the addition of Pantalones to their lineup of premium wines and spirits as part of their “Love Line Premium Liquors” collection on board Princess Cruise ships.

The “Love Line Premium Liquors” Collection is a series of premium wines and spirits available to Princess Premier package guests aboard Princess cruise ships. Pantalones joins spirits from the likes of Pit Bull, Jason Aldean, and Romero Britto in offering guests beverage options that reflect the wide variety of tastes and preferences of Princess Cruise guests.
