Yes please! This versatile recipe could be an appetizer, used for shrimp tacos, or served on a bed or rice or greens.

This simple shrimp marinade is quick to throw together. Simple enough for Taco Tuesday, an amazing appetizer for a crowd or fancy enough for an intimate dinner for two. I have not done it, but these shrimp could surely be tossed in some pasta too!

Just peel the shrimp (tails on or off, your preference), throw them in the prepared marinade, refrigerate for an hour or more, put them on some skewers and BBQ. Voila!

BBQ Tequila Lime Shrimp ingredients.

The ingredients are simple and easy to find in the grocery/liquor store:

Shrimp – a healthy protein which is low in fat. It can be bought fresh or frozen. I keep a bag in the freezer for a quick meal, as they are a versatile protein. Shrimp contains many vitamins and minerals including B12, magnesium, calcium, iron, Zinc and Selenium.

Lime juice – You will need the juice of two medium limes or about 2 ounces of bottled lime juice. A good quality organic lime juice is very convenient to keep in your fridge.

Tequila – an inexpensive tequila is best, as it will not be used for sipping!

Olive or avocado oil – latest studies show these fats are anti-inflammatory and healthy choices.

Cumin – when I think of tequila and lime, cumin comes to mind! We just use a small amount to balance the flavors.

Garlic – minced, fresh garlic is definitely best. If you don’t have any, some powdered or even sprinkle garlic salt will suffice.
